Quantum Tattoo to open in Presque Isle

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook County’s largest city will soon have another tattoo parlor on Main Street when Quantum Tattoo opens in early April.

Owner Autumn Lizotte, who also works at the Cigarette Shopper in Presque Isle, said that running a tattoo parlor has been a longtime goal for her. She has previous work experience in retail, the hotel industry and as a certified nurse’s assistant and is excited to be a first-time business owner.

Quantum Tattoo is located next to Dr. Richard Graves’ optometry office on Main Street and will become the only tattoo parlor in town to allow walk-in clients for tattoos that don’t require extensive work. Tattoo Artist Sean Wadlington will offer free consultations as well as free touch-ups for tattoos that have faded with age. He also plans to offer piercing services within the next few months.

“Everything fell into place really quickly. This was only the second place we checked out, but it has a great location and the space inside had everything we were looking for,” Lizotte said.

Wadlington has prior experience as a tattoo artist at parlors in Indianapolis and the former 207 Tattoos in Presque Isle and has experience with various styles of tattoos. For those on the fence about getting a tattoo, he advises not rushing into a decision and he is willing to make the experience a comfortable one.

“I tell people to take their time because it’s a big decision. They’re going to have the tattoo on their skin for the rest of their lives, so they should be happy with the design,” Wadlington said. “They could always take a break during their appointment if they need to.”

Through Quantum Tattoo, Lizotte and Wadlington hope to gain connections with other business owners in Aroostook County and give back to their community. On select dates they will host “Charity Weekends,” where 50 percent of their proceeds from the weekend will go toward a local nonprofit or charity organization.

“We hope that one of the first nonprofits will be the Central Aroostook Humane Society,” Wadlington said.

Lizotte and Wadlington plan to announce an opening date for Quantum Tattoo on their business Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/QuantumTattoo0.

“I think this is going to be a good adventure for us and we’re excited to become part of the business world in Presque Isle,” Lizotte said.
